FG Don Set New Deadline for Eko/Apongbon Bridges Reopening

Di Federal Government on Tuesday don set new deadline of July 15 to complete di repairs and re-open of both Eko and Apongbon bridges to traffic.

Di Federal Controller of Works for Lagos State, Mrs Olukorede Kesha bin tok for one interview with di News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) afta meeting with di contractor of di project.

Kesha, afta di meeting with Build well Plants and Equipment Industries Ltd, di contractors wey dey handle di two projects, tok say di firm bin give advice say dem need to complete some important part sof di project.

She tok say some repair wey first dey before before go need to dey complete before dem go re-open to make sure say di bridges dem strong well well, say make Lagosians get small patience. 

“We are doing everything possible to ensure that the contractor finishes on or before July 15,” na so she tok.

NAN report say na fire burn di two bridges for 2022.

Fire bin affect Apongbon Bridge for March 2022 and dem bin try repair am by December but anoda fire come burn di Ijora Olopa side of Eko bridge for November 4.

Di 4.1km Eko bridge bin link di Lagos Island with Mainland. E still link Apongbon for di Island side.
