‘E no dey’, featuring the jolly Prinx Emmanuel takes the work to a climax for African music aficionados

Victor Ekpo aka SirVic has lived in Port Harcourt studios since 2003 when he started out as a singer, switching to rap after some years. Back then, he had some songs out like ‘Make it Shine’ and ‘Some times’. In 2013, he had 2 more songs out, featuring legendary worship leader Afy Douglas in one.

Welcome to 2021 and Sir Vic is back and brutal. He has released “Take Over”, an E-P with 4 super songs, this time featuring PH based vocalist, Obinna Okorie and ‘God no go shame us’ crooner Prinx Emmanuel.

Prinx Emmanuel doubled as producer for the E-P, which in itself features different cool styles of music.

‘Jesus Hold Me’ is modest tempo Pop, a favourite of foreign gospel music enthusiasts. There is a blend of R&B singing by Obinna and the characteristic calm rap vibe of SirVic.

‘Joyful’ and ‘Get Your Praise On’ represent the faster urban gospel tracks in the mini-album.

‘E no dey’, featuring the jolly Prinx Emmanuel takes the work to a climax for African music aficionados. The blend of Ghanaian hi-life and Nigerian Afro sprinkled with some Carribean spice takes the mid-tempo music to an easy club trouble – notwithstanding its unforgiving gospel lyrics.

In all, the E-P is both a radio and live-event favourite as OAPs and DJs who have listened attest to. It is currently streaming on all digital stores.

What’s next for SirVic?
There is a video for ‘E no de’ on the way. There is also a tour in the works beginning with select Nigerian urban centres. The Ikot Abasi born son of Akwa Ibom state, Sir Vic is out to ‘Take Over’ in a hurry. It’s his time, having labored in the trenches for close to 20 years unheard and he is not taking it easy.
