Na event wey beta well well wey celebrate di important role wey women dey play for di development of our societty as Wazobia 93.7 FM, Onitsha held its 2023 Mbada Women August Meeting on Sunday.

Dem call di August occasion "Today woman wey make sense (Nwanyi kara aka)," bin bring together different women from different walks of life, wey dey Anambra State and beyond.

Dem do di event for Prof. Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka. Big big women for government and di civil society.

Na di Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare ,Hon.Ify Obinabo. She tok say women be wonderful gifts of God to di world, give dem capacity to fit do great things.

She still tok say na women be dia own problem as women no get love for each other. She come dey encourage women to always love one another, Hon. Obinabo tok say nobody fit stop women if dem no dey fight each other but love each other.

“For example, di family wey dem marry women as wives and dem dey and di pipo wey dey do dis kind badness na di  mothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of di wife,” she said.

“Wives still be di ones wey treat dia mothers-in-law with plenti wickedness.

“Bad widowhood practices wey na women dey mainly do. Na why I tok say men no be our problem but women be dia problem.

“If women start to love and support each other, we go beta pass we dey before.” 

Di Programs Manager of Wazobia FM, Onitsha, Kriss Molokw, tok say di event dey targeted to fit provide di opportunity for women to appreciate themselves and begin to support each other.

“Na our first major outing for Awka be dis, and aside say we wan use di opportunity to sell di Wazobia FM brand to di government and di people, we still wan sell di spirit of sisterhood for di society.

“Na major point for us. We wan start to dey see women dey help women again and not to dey pull them down.

“Women need to also set dia priorities wella as home builders, to make sure say our homes dey properly taken care of so di larger society go dey beta,” Na so Molokwu tok.

Afta di event, Wazobia FM give different gifts and souvenirs to di women as dem dey dance, dey jolly as di Wazobia FM Djs dey play correct music.
