Di House of Representatives don set to probe wetin e call illegal selling of Federal Government properties by Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) and Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA)

Oda agencies wey follow for dis one na:di Nigerian Railway Corporation(NRC), River Basin Development Authority(RBDA) and Nigeria Customs Service(NCS).

Dis one follow afta di motion wey Rep.Oluwole Oke(PDP-Osun) bin move during di plenary on Thursday for Abuja.

For him motion, Oke tok say di procedure to dispose and sell government properties for Nigeria dey clear well for di Financial Regulations, 2009 and Public Procurement Act 2007.

Oke tok say di Constitution of di Federal republic of Nigeria, 1999(as amended) tok say all di money say dem gather from di selling of public property suppose dey go di Consolidated Revenue Fund.

He still tok say NPA,NIMASA,NRC,NCS,RBDA and odas don dye sell public property for price wey no good and dem no still follow di due process.

On top dis mata, he tok say weda dem drop all di money wey dem take sell am or dem no drop at all na still breach of di constitution.

Oke still tok say if dis one continue, plus di one wey be say crude oil no dey bring plenti money again, government no go fit cope with di rise in demand for infrastructure.

As Oke submit dis one, di house come gree to set up ad hoc committee to chook eye for dis mata of how all dis agencies dey handle public property.

According to di house, di committee go cover from 2010-2022 to see how far dem don go with di selling of public property and as dem no dey drop di money wey dem take sell di property for di consolidated revenue purse.

Di committee go report to di House afta four weeks for di next action. (NAN)
