She tok say research don show say one out of every four high-risk drug users don face arrest for drug-related matter.
She break di arrest mata like dis: 73% na for drug possession,12% na for stealing, 5% na for sex work, 4% na for burglary, 2% na for shoplifting.
She add say, "Dis data na only di arrest wey dem record. If we look di ones wey nobody report, di problem big well well."
Adeyeye also tok about how drug abuse dey spoil families, society, and di country economy. Na why NAFDAC start dis strong programme wey dem design to stop secondary school pikin dem from entering drug wahala.
She explain say drug addiction fit start from both legal drugs like prescribed medicine or di illegal ones.
"Dis programme no be to put fear for una body, but to make we tok true and help una make better decisions about drug use, including alcohol," she tok.
Before dis, Mr. Onogwu Emmanuel, wey be NAFDAC State Coordinator for Rivers, tok why dem carry di awareness programme go secondary schools. Him explain say secondary school pikin dem dey most at risk, and as di youth na future leaders, dem suppose dey involved for di fight against drug abuse.
For di pilot phase, dem pick two schools from each of di three senatorial zones for di state.
