He tok say, “dis period, plenty pipo both di ones wey don marry and di ones wey never marry go knack well well and dis go open plenty pipo to get HIV/AIDS and other Sexually Transmitted Infections''.

As we dey show our partners love for dis Valentine Day, make we remember to love with our head. As pipo wey dey part of dis big country,  your health and things wey you go fit do matter to your close and far family and di whole country.

''Nigeria still need you, so I dey beg una to stay away from things wey go fit make una get HIV/AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases as we dey celebrate dis special day. Once again I dey beg una to love wisely, share love, and not virus”.

He still tok say, e very important to stop di spread of HIV infection for Nigeria, especially to dey teach our young ones to stay away from sex, and for di ones wey no fit stay away from sex, make dem dey use condom to help prevent HIV, STIs and even belly wey dem no plan for.

“E don dey important to make sure say condom dey available as a way to fit prevent di youths and pipo wey don reach to dey knack, wey no fit stay away from knacking, as di with new HIV record dey show say di pipo wey get am na from 15-24 years and di national data dey tok say about 4.2 percent of young pipo wey dey 15-24 years dey live with HIV.”

As National AIDS and STDs Control Programme (NASCP) tok, 90 per cent of Nigerians wey get HIV know say dem get am, 98 per cent of dem wey know say dem get am, dey on HIV treatment and for di 95 per cent of pipo wey dey on treatment, di virus don dey reduce for deir body.

For di end of September 2022, over 1.6 million pipo wey dey live with HIV for Nigeria dey on treatment, compare to 838,020 pipo for 2017. Di number of HIV treatment place don increase from 251 for 2007 go 2,262 for 2020, NACA tok.
