"At the early stage of my career, I tried to change my sound"- Oxlade

Sensational Nigerian singer Oxlade recently talked deeper about himself when answering five questions from Kemi Smallzz on The Night Show.

The singer revealed what his philosphopy is when making music or making friends. Above that, he tells fans why his best song is Frenemies; the song that stays in his mouth, mind, and heart.

"I can't say I'm a spiritual person but the first thing for me is to gauge your energy and aura. If the energy is not compatible," he begins. I don't even stress. So, your vibe, your countenance around me has to be welcoming before connecting to anybody."

After that, he talked about the early days when he tried to change his music.

"At the early stage of my career, I tried to change my sound. I felt like I wasn't doing it right. So, I tried to sound commercial to please everybody. It never worked out for me. I sounded horrible. I went back to my sound and then I found myself, and each time I created music I found myself more. I thank God I stuck to my sound. And I didn't try to sound like anybody else.

"That one song that has never left my mouth, my mind, my thinking has to be Frenemies by Rexxie and Oxlade."

According to Oxlade, he recorded that song last year, it started to sound vain but he related to the song even though he's the one who sang it.

"I love my music. First of all, I'm a fan of myself. I love myself so much, I love my music so much."

"Frenemies is a special song to me, it comes to me anytime. I've seen things, experienced life, people have been funny, have moved funny. Regardless of the fact that I sang it, it makes sense to me every single time. It makes me stay guarded. I watch the crowd I welcome into my life."
