Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) don declare nationwide protest for February 4 bcos of di 50% increase wey Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) put for telecom services.
After NLC National Administrative Council (NAC) meeting for Abuja on Wednesday, di president, Joe Ajaero, tok say di tariff increase too much for Nigerians.
For di statement wey dem release after di meeting, NLC oga tok say dis tariff increase dey come at a time wey people dey struggle with inflation.
"Di rally go be warning against di danger of putting dis kain unfair increase on people wey dey struggle, wey minimum wage na just N70,000," Ajaero tok.
"People wey don already suffer increase for fuel price, high cost of food, electricity tariff hike, and general inflation wey no wan gree come down."
NLC don give order make all dia affiliates and state councils start full mobilization for February 4, 2025 nationwide protest. Dem still encourage civil society groups wey wan join to begin preparation.

NCC approve di increase after telecom operators report loss for dia recent financial results. Even though dia revenue dey increase, di loss na because of rising operational costs wey dem blame on di weak naira and fuel price wey go up, wey dem dey use run base stations.
Di operators bin wan make di increase 100%, but government approve only 50%.
