Wizkid won the Best Music Video award
Nigerian afrobeat singer, Wizkid, has received his Grammy award plaque.
The singer, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, made the announcement on Instagram after becoming the second Nigerian to receive a plaque since Burna Boy got his a few weeks ago.
Wizkid won the Best Music Video award on March 14 at the 63rd edition of the Grammys for his featured role on Beyoncé's Brown Skin Girl held in Los Angeles.
The song also featured Saint John and Blue Ivy.
According to Daily Trust, critics of 'Starboy' as he is fondly called have argued that he is not worthy to be called a Grammy winner because he got both plaques through collaboration but his fans rose in his defense.
Starboy became the only contemporary Nigerian musician besides Burna Boy to shine at the 2020 Grammys.
