National Assembly Joint Committee on top Finance don tok say dem fit stop di money wey Federal Government dey give the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for 2025 budget.

Dis warning come after JAMB Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, present di agency budget plan for 2025. Prof Oloyede tok say JAMB remit N4 billion go Consolidated Revenue Fund, but Federal Government still give dem N6 billion grant for 2024.

Di committee members, including Hon. Abiodun Faleke and Senator Adams Oshiomhole, no gree understand why JAMB, wey suppose dey fund itself, still dey collect money from government. Faleke ask, “You remit N4 billion but collect N6 billion. Why you no just hold di N4 billion and stop FG money?”

Dem still vex say JAMB spend N1.1 billion on food and drinks, N850 million on security and fumigation, N600 million for local travel, and N6.5 billion on local training. Oshiomhole question di expenses and tok say, “Na di poor students money una dey spend, some of dem na orphans. Wetin una fumigate wey cost N850 million?”

Di committee don show say dem no happy with how JAMB dey spend money, and dem fit review how di agency go take dey get government funding for di 2025 budget.
