"I released it first this year because it's more like a prayer..." - D'banj

Veteran music icon, D'banj recently revealed what he's been doing and what he still accomplish this year in a brief interview on the Midday Oasis with DO2DTUN.

The singer said he's releasing an album this year titled 'Stress Free'.

According to D'banj, the album has two chapters, and the first chapter will be like an introduction. The tracks Banga and Ikebe will also be housed in the album.

He emphasized the song 'Ikebe', calling it 'Ikebs' during the conversation. He revealed that the song was written by Teni and produced by Rex.

"Teni and I met up and she played me Ikebs," D'banj says. She wrote the song for herself, sang it, and there realized that the song is Banga. So she called me and I saw her.

"You know the song is just like a general song, but why I released it first this year is because it's more like a prayer for everyone out there, and with everything that has happened, I kind of see it as a prophecy from God. That's why the first line goes: "Oh Lord, help me. I don't want to sin, I don't want to sin."

At this point where DO2DTUN made a friendly jibe, D'banj affirmed "That song can be sung in the Church!"

Before he ended his remarks, D'banj also spoke about Banga, the second track from 'Stress Free' album. This happens to be gaining the attention of fans around the world more than 'Ikebe' did.
