'Reason With Me' was a shocker for me - Rudeboy
The other side of P-Square, now known as Rudeboy, revealed that he almost gave up his career during trying times.
The singer, who has a new album out (Rudykillus) out now, had a chat with DO2DTUN of Cool FM recently.
He spoke briefly about his transition from group level to solo. Like any musician in that sort of predicament, he said there were doubts but he had to conquer the doubts.
Here's how the conversation he had with DO2DTUN went.
DO2DTUN: There were doubts. In the conversation we had before and now, what do you think the vibe or the acceptance (of your music) is like now?
Rudeboy: As you said, at first, it wasn't balanced. I was in a situation where I was like should I continue this or should I just quit? But there are guys who always say "Bro, don't doubt." And I was like what's the use?
I knew what was going to happen but I wasn't ready for it. I was just waiting for a miracle to come. I waited for fr almost a year but there was no song, no single.
Then I came out with a single but even with the single, there were still doubts. The more I dropped a single, the more I started to hear my name. I think the moment I dropped 'Reason With Me' that was it. That song was a shocker for me because that song became very big and it became an anthem all over Africa...
Rudeboy spoke about mistakes that singers who follow a certain trend get themselves into.
