Masterkraft took CDQ more seriously after the rapper left his banking job to pursue music

Talented Nigerian music producer, Masterkraft has revealed why he signed indigenous rapper Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, better known by his stage name CDQ.

In an interview with Hip TV, Masterkraft said that he met the rapper while working at a studio and that it was the rapper’s confidence in his craft that impressed him.

"I just saw someone enter the studio where I used to record in Ikeja, without being invited. I was with Benji Adesina, who at that time went out to get food for me. Before I turned, I saw someone enter the studio. Who are you? and the fellow began... 'Bros so sorry, I'm a rapper, I just want to tell you that I'm a rapper, this is my CD, I'm very good.' My problem was, I couldn't tell him off due to the confidence he had.

"So, I gave the CD to some Yoruba guys around me and they played it, saying that 'this guy bad!' From then on, I started infusing his rap into other people's works to ginger the songs."

That's how Masterkraft got CDQ out there, through collaborations.

Kraft, who has worked with almost every big Nigerian artist, including Wizkid, Phyno, Flavour, and a list of others, said during the interview that he finally decided to take CDQ more seriously after the rapper left his banking job to pursue music.

Both Masterkraft and CDQ have been through many things together.
